Time: Night fall
Location: Esteldin Grand Halls
Status: Score of wounds across chest, arms, legs, back. Gash down left cheek.
Situation: Victory in Esteldin, outmovoered by Heirs of Ruin.
Moral: Risen, still much to be desired.
Personal notes:
Many had heard the call to arms, more then I had execpted, maybe there is hope that people will come to fight for their homes and familes when the time comes.
Drandr gave me a suprise when I saw him at the mustering, he was meant to marry the Barmaid Joy in a weeks time! I know that Arathin was watching him like a hawl.
*Chuckles lightly and nods his thanks to a Ranger for bring him a glass of water, resting it on the grand oak table and pulling a book close to him*
The battle started quickly, The Green Company and Grey Company had come at just the right time for us to amass at the Esteldin slope. I am glad I pushed the Rangers into setting traps along Nan Amlug, they proved a great tool at causing the orcs to slow and alow the rangers to pick them off from a distance.
*Takes a sip from his water and pulls the map of the North Down's closer, seeing it marked out with Angmar Trench lines and Army build ups*
After what seemed a life time of butchery on the slope, the orcs finaily gave way and ran before us. I knew they were going to try and lure us to their trench line to rip us apart from there and called the halt. Meanwhile, The Heirs had taken a large army from the North Pass was heading to away from the battle, another force was attacking the west gate and worms with goblin riders upon them climbed the mountain and into Esteldin itself...
*Looks out the grand hall and remembers the bitter fighting with a shudder*
A very up close and intese battle took place, all battle lines, tactices and plans all boiled away into a bloodbath. After spending the whole day fighting, the orcs broke and routed, a great cheer left the mouths of the free peoples, until we noticed a collum of smoke coming from the river. The Heirs of Ruin had brunt the bridge towards Fornost and Treslebridge. I am still waiting reports to come from Evendim and Defenders already sent there...
*Takes a deep gulp from his water and looks out the window, looking back at his jorunal with a very long moment before finishing*
It looks like this war is going back to Evendim. There place where it first started, if a long war breaks out there again, I might have to make a number of Call to Arms. I prey that many will answer it like before.
