His Natural Territory

Cynraede stepped back, looking at the grey wolf that lay in front of him.  He drew the knife that lay across the small of his back and began to neatly cut into the skin, he emptied in organs onto the ground, rolling him over to check the hide. Looking up to the sun filled sky, he couldn't help but smile as he looked back down on the beast. This would provide meat to some of the needy, as well as the pelts the Lady requested. He couldn't help but wonder to himself why the she would send some one like him to do something for her people. After all, he was an outcast to most.  He walked back to his horse and tossed the tanned hides across her back. He turned back and ran a hand through his rough and tangled hair as he looked across the horizon, staring into the rising sun. "And so, nights embrace leaves once more.." He whispered as he walked back to the horse, mounting quickly and making his way back.  The crimson hood pulled up once more as he lowered his head.

He watched the sun rise while he rode back to Arrowhaven, wondering to himself as quietly. He moved the crossbow to where it laid just over his chest so if need be, he could grab it in  hurry. After all, things had changed, people knew him..
