The ground vibrated and shook to smithereens as the troll repeatedly brought his club down to meet the ground. He was aiming for the tiny animal with the curly hair darting to and fro. Roaring in frustration he leaned forward to bring his massive head down closer to see if he could get a better look at it. It was just then that Toddy saw his chance and ran straight between the legs of the giant troll, ducked slightly under his chin and had just made it to safety when the biggest, smelliest, most disgustingly thick glob of drool slipped from the mouth of the troll and stopped Toddy straight in his tracks.
This may have been Toddy’s saving grace, for just at that moment, the troll inhaled again and snorted the whole lot back upwards into his own snout. Toddy, soaked in drool, was freed from the thickest glob of it with only clumps of it all over him now. He struggled to free his feet and get himself moving again, which he did at the same moment the troll saw the back end of the hobbit disappear into the very same hole the human had only moments before.
Dropping to his hands and knees, the giant troll tilted his head to one side so that his eye could peer down into the hole. He even tried to stick one of his massive chunky fingers in there but couldn’t reach far enough so went back to peeping in with one big eye.
Just at that moment, a ferocious and viciously savage looking beast came hurdling over boulders, rocks and rubble. His razor sharp teeth bared ready to be sunk deep into the biggest gluteus maximus he had ever seen – the muscular backside of a troll.
Paulie, a cross between a mountain lion and an overgrown shaggy grey wolf, aimed straight for the right buttock of the troll while his claws gripped the ground propelling him forward. Just as his teeth sank in, the troll shot upwards, the snot downwards and the drool in all directions. The screaming, roaring and bellowing of the troll could be heard for miles but deep inside the hole, the half starved duo, Feea and Toddy, were too busy scoffing and stuffing their hungry faces to care what the commotion was outside.
