Keeping a promise, part 3

Hidden under cloak and hood, with sharp curved daggers in hand we arrived at the town of Snowbourn. For ten minutes we hid behind rocks and trees. Waiting patiently for the thanes men to continue their party at the mead hall.
Loud drunks, that is what they were this evening.. just as we had expected.
They placed a single guard at the town gate this evening.
As most of the men attended the celebrations at the mead hall.
This good man was too late in spotting us; the soft whistle of an arrow was the only sound in the vale, as it struck the guard right between the eyes.
I gave Feod a brief nod "Well shot.."

Swiftly and silently we entered the town.

Quietly we deposed the town of its watchers, Feod killed another two guardsmen whom patrolled around the mead hall. Cethelion slit the throats of two more patrolling the streets.
We knocked thrice on the door of a house opposing the mead hall, after returning our knocks with two more, a group of men of Rohan emerged from the building.
I gave the eldest his payment, and after shaking hands  we departed from the town.
The last thing I witnessed was the entry of the mead hall by these hirelings.... as we left the scene..

Two days later, the older gentleman had indeed fulfilled his promised.
We awaited him in a small forest hamlet. As two days had passed I assumed the plan of the hirelings had failed. Then Cethelion suddenly shouted for me, “the prisoner is here!”.

Spitting, screaming and struggling as he went, the hirelings brought him before me.
"This is no noble of Snowbourn.., this is a kinsman of ours." I spoke in a soft tone.
"What'll ye do with him?" the Elderly Rohirric man asked.
I pondered for a moment, deciding whether I'd tell them the truth and depose of them..
"He shall be my honoured guest for a while, now away with you lot.. we have bussiness to tend to" Killing these hirelings would not further my goals... There is no peril in letting them live.

For now.
