Sunday June 11th, Echad Dúnann, Eregion
A brief account of what transpired during the first hour the author was present.
Morning hours at the base camp at Echad Dúnann. Ealendil sits by the fire alone for the moment, while Nienore, beneath a tree a little further away, occupies herself with reading. Ealendil roasts some of the bread, that had become a little stale, over the fire.
Satisfied with how it is turning out she stands up and walks over to Nienore, offering her some, and in doing so, she spots Rilaeril standing guard at the road-side. Walking over to Rilaeril, offering her some of the bread, she inquiries about news. Rilaeril tells her a letter had arrived for her and is kept by one of the messenger elves at the small outpost.
As she walks over to the elf Rilaeril pointed out, Carniquesse arrives and sits down quietly by the fire. The lithe Arrow moves with much practiced stealth, affording her the escape of notice.
Fetching the letter, Ealendil notices a name on the outside of the letter, "Coruhuron". Puzzled she opens the letter, it was some days ago that they had parted ways down at ancient Mirobel. His group had been called back to Rivendell, yet he must have passed here not long ago when they weren’t present.
Ealendil walks over to Rilaeril and shows her the letter (laurelinarchives.org/node/47210). Attached to the letter are notes of a small song, in thanks for the hospitality and warmth that they had shown. Ealendil plays the song on her harp and smiles as she feels the effect it has on her spirit. Silently she thanks Coruhuron for his gift.
Rilaeril and Ealendil walks over to the fire, joining Carniquesse, who is too offered some bread, yet she reclines, pointing to the bowl milk-soaked bread she is devoting her attention too. Elvealin comes back to the camp and is offered some bread and shown the letter that had arrived from Coruhuron.
Suddenly Rilaeril turns around and walks a little in the direction of the road. A greeting is heard, and a voice of an unknown elleth responds. Both Elvealin and Ealendil turns around to see the arrival of a stranger clad in the garb of a hunter, apparently having ridden hard for some time.
The stranger introduces herself as Iorinos, bringing a letter of introduction to Lady Elvealin. Rilaeril and Ealendil gathers around Elvealin, waiting to hear what the letter is about, and greeting Iorinos.
After Elvealin has read the letter, she shows it to the others. It appears that Iorinos was sent by Lady Elwensil from the House of Ellensar, Nienore’s mother, as protector for Nienore. Iorinos had come by way of Imladris and had tracked them south, riding without stopping.
Elvealin bids the protector welcome to the company and to stay and journey with them to the east. Iorinos thanks her and inquiries about a spot where she can rest and change. She is shown one of the tents and walks over. At the same time Nienore joins the others at the fire, having concluded her reading beneath the tree, and is informed by Elvealin of the arrival of Iorinos.
The RP continued after the author had left at this point in the story.
