Now he smelled bad! Looked blimming awful too!
We had a fun time together, even if I were thinking a carp could have bitten me toe off! I swear something tried to bite my foot!
I like Lincoln, he don't try to make me uncomfy, even took my advice and had a full fried breakfast after he and Maddoct told me how much they'd had the previous night to drink. He tried to share his meal, and we spoke a good bit too. I told him he could do with a good wash in the river or something, so we went down Staddle way. I don't think Elias would have approved. Not because of me and Linc spending time in the water, but it being dark, swimming and all, what with my health only just getting back to normal. Though me and him spoke about that when he asked if I could make a pipe for him, and it were right considerate when he said he'd be aware not to use it when around me on account of my breathing. We spoke about what we wanted to do with our lives, and I think he thought it a bit queer when I told him about traveling in the Spring. Parted ways before the sun came up proper, which were a good thing, as I looked a right mess and didn't need the neighbours gossiping.
I went home like a drowned rat, but a happy one, though I will say I were glad to get in front of the fire! I've met a few folk lately, some lovely, some a bit unusual, and it's distracted me. Yet it is times like this, warm, in bed and Bailey sleeping at my side, that I end up thinking of other things, the what if's and whys, but tonight, I'm tired. Perhaps my dreams will have me going off on some adventure, being chased by a giant blimming fish being ridden by one of me friends who are sipping an ale, who knows? I look forward to tomorrow. Maybe I'll hear a bit of news, maybe I'll meet someone new, but I know one thing, I wont be getting sloshed out of me mind like dear Linc and Maddoct!
