| Outward Appearance |
Lilifled is pretty in a common sort of way. Her hair is vibrant red and her eyes are azure blue, but there is nothing particular about her appearance that distinguishes her from the other, fairly numerous beautiful women around Bree. She keeps her hair largely braided in the Dale fashion and spends a reasonable amount of time tending to it. She is freckled around her cheeks and on her upper back. Her figure is slender without being skinny. She is quite short, abour 5'2". She has a high pitched, sing-song accent.
She appears to be incredibly clumsy, often tripping over things or dropping items accidentally. Her clothes are travel worn and hastily patched together with sub-par knitting skills. She carries an old harp with her everywhere. She has a backpack which, if it's contents are examined, reveals two books (The Raunchy Romance of Randy Roland and Lovely, Luscious Lucindia and The Ballad of Bard the Bowman) as well as lots of scribbled notes covered with lyrics, musical notes and a myriad of goofy doodles. It also contains a tarnished bronze medallion, about 7 silver and 2 coppers stitched into a secret compartment, some bandages, a needle-work kit, a battered and well-loved stuffed toy rabbit, so aged that it is only just held together by crude patchwork and a note inscribed “directions to the prancing pony” and a change of clothes.

Background
Lilifled has had a generally unremarkable life thus far. She was born in Dale seventeen years ago to the blacksmith Drummond Sparling and an unknown woman passing through with a trading caravan from the south. Her mother stayed long enough to give birth, though she and Drummond were notoriously secretive. As soon as Lilifled was born, her mother disappeared and presumably returned to wherever she had come from. Shortly after her birth Drummond was killed in a tavern brawl, and she came into the care of her grandparents. All her parents had left her was the constant mark of 'Fitz' before her surname- to forever mark her out as illegitimate-and a sad old cloth rabbit, a soft toy that Lilifled carried with her everywhere when she was young, and keeps in secret with her to this day (hugging the soft rabbit in times of misery offers her some inexplicable solace).
The generation divide was noticeable, but this did not stop Lilifled being devoted to her grandparents, especially her grandfather. An old soldier who had fought in the battle of Five Armies, her grandfather would often tell an enthralled young Lilifled about Bard the Bowman and the legendary battle, instilling in her a life-long love of story and song. He was also skilled with a harp, and claimed that the one he possessed was enchanted and was claimed from Smaug's horde. Though obviously a false-hood concocted to excite the imagination of the little girl as she played games of Bard's adventures with her friends (the harp is quite obviously made of plain old ash wood and not even particularly well-carved) Lili is adamant that the story is true.
When Lilifled was sixteen, her grandmother died peacefully in her sleep. Though her grandfather put on a brave face for her, it was obvious that the grief was slowly consuming him, and he eventually passed away. Lilifled was utterly distraught and resigned herself to grief-stricken misery, spending much of her time locked away in her grandparents house and clutching her precious rabbit.
The memories of her grandparents made it impossible for her to remain in Dale, and about three months after her grandfathers death she sold the house for 500 silver pieces, no mean sum, and headed southward toward Bree, taking little but the 'enchanted' harp and her old stuffed Rabbit.
Lilifled is a compassionate individual to whom empathy comes easily. She feels all emotions with the typical extreme passion of youth. She is trusting, to a reasonable extent, but is wary enough to avoid letting herself be taken advantage of, most of the time at least. She is frequently enthusiastic and can find joy in realtivly simple things. She is quite opinionated and will rarely compromise her moral code. She can be prone to selfishness and jealously, especially toward the many glamourus and beautiful women who she encounters in Bree. She is mistrustful of elves and thinks that they are arrogant. She is a chronic coward and whenever in danger will often go into self-preservation mode, it is not impossible that she might, however, in the right circumstances draw on the hidden well of untapped courage she possesses. Lilifled is sometimes self-absorbed, to the point where she doesn't recognise she is causing offence, at other times her attempts to be helpful will only make things worse. She can be stubborn to a fault when her heart is set on something.
