Daphnea was raised on a farm in Staddle, the youngest of a number if siblings. Her older brothers and sisters have all settled down to raise families in and around Bree. With all the bandit activity and strange folk coming up the Greenway of late, her parents have packed her off to her Shortfellow cousins in the Shire to keep her out of trouble.

Daphnea is a cheerful young hobbit with an adventurous nature, at least by Shire standards. By anyone else's standards she's as stay-at-home as any other hobbit. She is often found in the far flung corners of the shire doing ill advised things like hunting wolves to incorporate their fur into her latest fashion creation. She always tries to see the bright side in any situation and can come across as very brave at times, though the reality is that she usually doesn't understand the danger she's in doing things like taking short cuts through the Old Forest on the way to visit her family in Bree.
