Background
The years spent in the Bree-lands
Born in Bree-town as the son of a Watcher and former Captain. Rodwick was taught how to play early in his life, during the time he secretly spent in The Comb and Wattle Inn, as well as the Mad Badger Inn in Archet, accompanying a praised local Bard.
Merely by studying the Bard, he quickly developed a decent writing skill and a proper singing voice. Soon after, he himself started writing his own texts, songs and riddles.
Unfortunately, his Bard tutor was stabbed and killed in a drunken accident, at Rodwick's mid teens. A couple of months after this, he worked as a clerk for a scholar in Bree for a mere year, before being kicked out for unknown reasons.
He had no to little luck finding a new job, as he lacked the muscle for most of them. Instead, he spent his time playing tunes on the Street for a coin or two, often getting in trouble by gambling with brigands.
At the end of his teens, he finally found a new job for a group of fortune-hunters, as a Minstrel to entertain them and write of their deeds. He was taught how to ride and how to survive in the wilderness. He was never trusted with a blade, instead he became an adequate sneaker and hider.
During the years to come, he performed the same task for many different groups, most of them operating in the Bree-lands, going from farm to farm looking for work, slaying and hunting beasts of all kinds, dealing with local bandits and troublemakers. They sometimes went as far as The Shire, Trestelbridge, the lands south of Andrath and most recently the Lone-lands east of Bree. Most of the expeditions led to fortune, whilst a few others ended in tragedy, each time forcing Rodwick to flee back to Bree.
In between these adventures, he spent his time at the Pony, playing his usual tunes and making new acquaintances.
