Rodricdoc's just a young hobbit from a rather poor family of hunters that live in Bree. When he went out hunting he saw how beautiful the world could be, so he started going farther out on his hunting trips. He also started to read books about the world and he read about elven cities like Rivendell and Mithlond where the elves sail to the west. He also read about human cities such as Edoras with the golden hall of Meduseld, Minas Tirith and Dol Amroth where the famous swan knights come from. So he decided to explore Middle-Earth and see all these beautiful sights with his own eyes.
