Background

Two brave elves venturing on the lands of Angmar, Turmagor and Naergon bump one day into a convoy of slaves that a threathening group of Orcs move to a misterious destination in the East. Outraged by their cruelty and the miserable fate of the prisoners, the elves charge and after a bloody figth they free the Men slaves and find among them also a Elf who does not remember her name or her past. Due to her blue eyes Turmagor names her Sidvenel to be able to adress her somehow.

The elves need to continue their journey so one of them only escorts the rescued people to Aughaire, making sure that Sidvenel will receive a guide to take her to the Rangers town Esteldin from where she will for sure receive aid to find shelter on a more permanent basis among her kin. In Esteldin Sidvenel is received with respect and treated with kindness. She feels safe and at peace for the first time she remembers and she is grateful to the Rangers for their kindness. When one of them asks her permission to take her to Evendim before giving her in the care of her Elven kin she accepts: the Ranger knows the story of a Elf who once gave aid to the Men in Annuminas and one day wanished without trace and the Wardens of Annuminas feared she was taken prisoner. Maybe Sidvenel is her? There is a chance this could be as she looks somewhat as the description given to the Rangers in Esteldin in case they shall ever find her dead or alive. Someone in Evendim can tell if it is her even if years passed already since then.

She waits with hope in a keep in Evendim and wanders the souroundings of Tinnudir for someone who fougth alongside the missing elf to return from the frontline in Annuminas. She tries to remember or imagine how her life was there but no memory comes to her. After a few days, as she was looking trough a grated window to the cloudless sky of Evendim she hears rushed steps and the door flies open as a Man rushes inside. She only has time to turn and see him a moment -a leader for sure, signs of age and worry on his fronthead and eyes- his expresion changing painfully from hope to sadness, he turns on his heels and leaves with no word to her, she only hears him saying "It is not her!" and the sound of a metalic crate of sorts meeting the boot of the ranger in a explosion of frustration. She thinks she hears the tears in his few words and feels same tears down her own throat. For him that did not find the dear friend he misses and for her who has no one to wait for her. Or has she? Does someone somewhere hopes for her return as this Man here or mourns her for dead?

The next day she receives a note: "Forgive my attitude unworthy of a civilised man in front of any woman and even more in front of a guest, be her of my kin or one of the Eldar. It was the first time in years I had hope to find someone most dear to me and that lone hope was lost when I saw you are not her. I am trully glad you have regained your freedom and that you will find your kin again. A plea I have for you. I will give you to take to Rivendell a old horse. Worry not, she is still strong enough for this road. It once belonged to the lady I hoped to see again yesterday. It is said that a horse feels the death of his master and I kept her as a witness her misttress is alive. But the horse is now old and is fair for her to live in peace in the realms she was born on her last years. Take her to Rivendell and allow her to remain there to rest. She never accepted for any of my Men to ride her but I believe she will accept a rider from the kin of her old mistress. Be well, mysterious lady named after the cloudless sky."

With nothing more to hope for in Evendim she receives a guide to Rivendell. He is to join the Rangers that keep guard in the Lone Lands, the rangers cannot afford the luxury to send someone only to be her escort. From the Lone Lands -she is told- the elves that keep guard to the path to Imladris will guide her steps. They pass trough the lands of the small Hobbits and those of the Men keeping a low profile. Under a hooded cloak Sidvenel passes for the sister of the traveler and no one asks them much. Some mutter "One of those Rangers" at the sigth of his green garments and the sharp sword and knife sparkling when ligth finds their blades beneath the hooded cloak when the man searches his coin purse to pay for food or shelter, and they look away. Sidvenel is surprised, from what she knows by now of their life should be no shame to be on of this proud people. Her escort only answers with a sad smile and rising his shoulders. She would sleep under the sky with no problem and the fruits of the forest would be more tasty meal than what she is used to but she sees that the Man tries to make her journey confortable and she enjoys this care for her as it is a first time she receives such. In the Lone Lands a cry of the Ranger - imitating that of a bird - summons a elf wearing a cloak embrodied in sea-blue and black and with a star in its lower half. Sidvenel is saddned to part with the Ranger that became the closest thing to a friend in the days they spent together and is not attentif to the name of this elf and later she is ashamed to ask. The elf is curteous and there is a ligth of joy and knowledge in his eyes she can't but admire. He sings along the way or imitates the cries of the birds to entertain his companion. In Rivedell he takes Sidvenel to the house of the lord Elrond, the master of the valey and introduces her to a merry elf girl named Cerebthos. The girl is a charming host and the two befriend easly (so much that in time Sidvenel will take interest in the study of Runes as her friend). Sidvenel searches the House Vanimar that Turmagor suggested she asks for shelter as a home of those who lost their. Not many days later she noticed in the Hall of Fire the black swan wings hauberk Turmagor described. The elf who wears introduces himself as Veryacano. There is aura of majesty around this elf that imposes from first sigth but his healthy laughter and relaxed tone give Sidvenel courage to tell him her story. Veryacano is glad to hear news on Turmagor-aparently Sidvenel's savior is missing for long time- and assures she found a home if she wishes so and hopefully help from the lore-masters of the house Vanimar to remember her past.
