| Outward Appearance | Angelnarth is a tall, fairly muscular man with a face and body full of old scars. He is considered very tall, even amongst elves. He has black hair which he wears long, reaching a few inches below his shoulders, and usually tied into a neat pony-tail. More often than not, he keeps them unusually clean and well-combed. His face, although having two long scars along its surface, obviously cuts that healed a long time ago, posseses a fair skin that shows him to be a man no older than his mid-twenties, with high cheekbones and a tapering chin. His sparkling dark blues eyes, a gift of his Gondorian-born Mother, always show kindness to those who meet him. Angelnarth's eyes were damaged long ago, when his own blade was shattered by crossing swords with Mordirith, the Steward of Angmar, and a few metal scraps got into them. After the intensive care of the best healers of Imladris, his sight returned in a matter of months. His vision is weak and somewhat distorted now, especially at distance.
Since he has lived most of his life amongst elves, he is an exemplar of chivalry, and also a conspicuous swordsman. He is always calm and kind, be it an old friend or a complete stranger in his presence. He will offer a faint smile from times to times, when he feels like he needs to. He will rarely laugh, or show too much of an emotion. He is usually clad in dark colored armor, grey or black, which is always and without an exception well cleaned and shined. He will usually choose garments that better suit his surroundings and condition. At all times, he carries at least one sword sheathed and hanged from his leather belt, although he may be seen carrying different swords at different times. |

Background
Angelnarth never knew an actual place he could call Home. His mother, Lanthirwen, was the only heir of the Bragollach noble family of Gondor, while his father was a ranger of Ithilien, and a descendant of an ancient Numenorean bloodline, a so-called Dunadan. His parents met by chance and fell in love almost immediately, fleeing the White City soon after that to start a family, away from both a family and a society who would never condescend to their marriage, even though an offspring of their love was already on the way. The parents became farmers in a village near the borders of Gondor and Rohan, and Angelnarth grew into a fine boy, spending his days by reading books and exploring the nearby forests. He lived the first nine years of his life that way, with his two parents. Yet, his mother's siblings wouldn't let them in peace for much longer. One night, bandits attacked their farm. They killed the boy's father, as they had strict orders by the Bragollach family, to take the boy's mother back and kill all the others.Yet, those bandits greed saved the boy's life. They sold him as a slave, along with many others in the land of Rhun. He would work in the copper mines of Rhun for the next six years. As the young boy grew into a man possessing an extraordinary physique by nature, he was picked by the slavers as a fighter to be used for entertainment. He had to enter the arena every few days and fight for survival in front of a crowd, including the local lords and slavers. After two years and countless men sent to the afterlife, there was talk amongst the easterlings about the westerner mongrel, the "Reaver of Carnen".

The Arena
Eventually, Angelnarth broke out of his prison and ran away, himself not being more than twenty five years old by that time. Not too long after that, by either chance or fate, he reached Rivendell and was given shelter by the elves. Staying there for more than a decade, he was taught the ways and customs of the elves of Imladris. Lord Elrond Half-elven quickly recognised the young man's true lineage, but also noticed his barbaric and violent ways by that time. Coming up with the excuse of using the Dunadan as a messenger, he dispatched him to the westernmost area of Eriador, Lindon. There, Angelnarth was taken under the wing of the Noldorin house of Thurendil, where the mortal was tutored by the young lord of Forlindon, Naegilrond.
As more years went past, the Man and the young lord formed a strong bond of friendship between them, despite their initial arguments as apprentice and tutor. By the time Angelnarth was about to leave Lindon, the Noldorin house and its lords have gifted the Mortal with a certain merit of truly invaluable worth. Some years later, Angelnarth would join his kinsmen, as a Ranger of the North, becoming one of the best warriors of Esteldin, and even leading assaults against Angmar. His company was the first one to attempt a scouting mission to the outskirts of Carn Dum, the fortress and capital of the infamous Witch-King.
Upon infiltrating the outskirts of Carn Dum, his company fell into the enemy's trap, and despite fighting valiantly with such a small force, his men were ultimately massacred in front of his very eyes. Angelnarth fell to his knees, his body exhausted, and his spirit all torn up, surrounded by enemies. And then, Mordirith, the Steward of Carn Dum, came out himself to finish the Dunedain, and take a good look at his new enemy. Angelnarth took up his sword and dueled the Black Numenorean on equal ground, their swords clashing again and again. He was already losing blood, his vision started to blur, and his overworked body would fail him soon enough. By the time the Ranger could barely keep his own sword in front of him, Mordirith crushed Angelnarth's own blade into pieces with a violent swing, cutting him all across the chest area with a second swing and leaving him on the ground all bloody and helpless, on the verge of death.
The orcs then leaped upon his beaten body and binded it with chains and ropes, boasting and crying loudly from above him for their precious victory. They kept him captive in the dungeons of Carn Dum for three days and nights, by his own inaccurate estimate. The Angmarims and orcs did not risk torturing him more than to a certain point, afraid that their precious prisoner might succumb to his already serious injuries and loss of blood. During the fourth day, Angelnarth's body entered a comatose-like state, after the tremendous hardships it went through. His captors carried him out of his cell and left him outside the stronghold, believing he was dead, so that the body would not rot inside the prison. By some miracle to his own eyes, the Dunadan woke up to find himself in Rivendell days later, under the care of the elves who have saved his life again in the past. It is still unknown to him by this day, how he was rescued from certain death in a land so far away.
He remained in Rivendell after that. He was ashamed of showing his face to his own kinsmen again, as he thought it was his own arrogance and own mistakes who led his own men to death. He would instead stay in the only place he could ever call home, and serve its lord, Elrond Peredhil until the threat of Mordor and Angmar was no more, or until the end of his days.
(Officially retired from LOTRO. Angelnarth left behind the Order of the Seven and Imladris to follow Isildur's Heir as part of the Grey Company. It is said that he left his last breath during the Battle of Morannon.)
