"Old Man" Wuddle divides his time equally between his home town of Staddle and the Mathom House at Michel Delving.  The only thing he enjoys more than studying is drinking ale and therefore he can often be found drinking in one of the many inns between the Shire and Bree.  When not at the inn he can be found socialising with his (now confirmed) brother Blanko.

The rumours of Wuddle and Blanko have been quite the talk of the Shire, with their facial resemblance a point of great mirth.  Delving in to the records at the Great Smials confirmed that they were long lost brothers.  It seems that it was not just a coincidence that the postman was always delivering letters to Mother Wuddlesworth's house!  He often used to stay around for more than a pie and a cup of tea!  This may be the reason that Wuddle's father Wungle Wuddlesworth moved to Staddle, taking the young Wuddle with him (although Wungle went to his grave never knowing he was not the natural father).

Although clumsy and heavy-footed, Wuddle does have a beautiful singing voice, and he and Blanko form the much loved duo 'Pie and Pipeweed'.
