Background
24 years ago, a woman knocked on the door of a simple hut, hidden away among the trees of the Chetwood. She was clutching a 4 months old baby girl to her chest, yet her strength was waning fast. She had been told an elderly man was living in that hut, a healer, but despite all his knowledge and effort, the young woman was consumed by a fever and beyond saving. Dying she begged the man to look after her daughter, and then she handed him a beautifully fashioned silver pendent and a letter, instructing him to give both to the girl once she was old enough to comprehend.
The man promised, and he indeed raised the child with much love and care, yet it was not until death was coming for him too, that he finally handed on the pendent and the letter, which contained the following lines:
'Dear child of mine, how I wish I could remain in this world to forever keep you safe, but death is soon to carry me away, and this paper is not long enough to explain to you all which has befallen me. Just know I loved you, and when you have grown into a woman yourself, travel to Gondor, to the White City. Seek out a man called Armathir and show him the pendent. He is your uncle and a good man. He will explain to you all which I can't.
Your Mother.'
The hope to unveil the truth of her parentage, and the prospect of belonging to a family, has convinced Anisja to undertake the dangerous journey all the way from the Breelands to Gondor. As the heir of her adopted father's knowledge, she can be considered a very capable healer and herbalist, and she knows how to survive in the wilds.
Personality and additional background
Anisja posses a scholarly mind. She proved an ardent student to her adopted father, and already at the age of 4 she was able to read and write fluently. Her intelligence can be considered above average, and even though she was lacking female influence while growing up, running wild among trees and marshes, she carries herself with considerable grace. However, as her adopted father had already been in his mid 60s when Anisja entered his secluded life, by the time she had grown into a woman, she was mainly kept busy tending to the aging and ailing man, whom she loved with deepest devotion. This meant she did not really find opportunity to develop additional social contacts, and any form of romantic involvement was completely out of the question, as she would never have agreed to leave her adopted father behind.
In Anisja's company can be found a hound, her and her father nursed back to health, after a farmer had chased the sick animal away. The dog's name is Alvin. In addition to the hound, there is also a raven called Labhraim, and Anisja's gelding Motte. The bird proved unwilling to leave after Anisja and her adopted father had mended his broken wing. He can speak words and even whole sentences, although some would claim this is just a trained ability, while Anisja will insist the bird knows what he is saying.
As a healer, it is clear that caring and kindness lie at the forefront of Anisja's personality, yet she is also a keen observer and cunning analyst, something few would suspect, as she generally comes over as only warm hearted and even a bit lost.
