| Outward Appearance | Tall and lithe, but her body is strong and resilient. Her hair is almost pure black with a slight wave; it is short, for an elf, falling to just past her chest. It is tied up in a ponytail whenever she crafts or goes into battle. She is usually clad in a dark red or white, the colours of her house, and her eyes, an icy blue, are often solemn. She smells like freshly fallen snow and parsley. |

Background
Gwindaleth was born in Aman, although the exact date and location is not known; Gwindaleth married Arenthial of the Noldor and they had one son, Areiondor who was born in Gondolin. No part in the first kinslaying was taken by Gwindaleth or her husband. When Gondolin was established her family became part of the House of the Pillar. Arenthial was slain in F.A. 510, standing with Penlod. After escaping from Gondolin Gwindaleth and her son took refuge in Eregion and eventually Imladris.
