Background
Damold is of Gondorin origin (which means his real name isn't Damold, but Caladamaear). Born to a noble family, he chose a military career (first he had wanted to become a minstrel, for his great talents with music, but after a straight objection by his parents he gave up), and fastly rose in rank.
When he was in the age of thirty-two (his much beloved wife had died to a disease two years ago), he was leading a company in Ithilien. They were ambushed, atleast seven to one, and only three men survived; Damold saw this as a personal failure, and decided to go to exile. Although he was never charged of anything, he rode to Edoras, to seek a new life. But after guests from Gondor recognized him, he fled further north. Riding the Greenway, he eventually reached the village of Bree.
"This feels a good place" he thought. "I'll become a bard, as I wanted all those years ago, and take a new name, so noone will know me." He then started travelling around Bree-land, Ered Luin, and the few settlements of the North and South Downs. He has since then become even more skilled with various instruments, and grown rather fond of the simpler lifestyle of Bree-landers.
