Outward Appearance

Brunelle appears to be a merry and joyful hobbit, with a never fading smile. Her skin is fair like ivory, matching her fallohide heritage and in contrast with her curly, ebony-coloured locks. Her curious eyes are deep blue, like the sky on a warm summer night, on which she loves to stroll through the Bindbole wood.

At home or in the woods she is often seen wearing a practical tunic; but when she is heading to the Green Dragon or to Michel Delving market, Brunelle always make sure to wear her beautiful azure dress.

Background

Brunelle, born as the daughter of a carpenter and a keeper of bees from Overhill, is at her happiest when strolling under the boughs of Bindbole Wood, where she spent most of her childhood.

From early age onwards, Brunelle started assisting her dad at the lumbercamp. And thus, bit by bit, she got fascinated by wood; although perhaps not in the way her father would have liked. When she found a branch she'd swing with it, like it was a spear at imaginary foes, such as the trolls from mad Baggin's stories! Or she'd aim with a javelin shaped branch at an enormous spider, while defying it 'Attercop, Attercop!'.

Above all, she loved the Shire, and she wanted to join the Watch. Despite her parents initial objections for their daughter to 'take an axe to a brawl rather than to a tree', like her old man used to say; they reluctantly gave in in the end and Brunelle travelled to Michel Delving for the first time.

Never had she thought the Shire would be that big, and she had been told that it was just the Westfarthing! Surely, the world couldn't be much bigger than the Shire, could it? After having arrived in Michel Delving, she expected to pass some kind of test; in order to join the Bounders. On the contrary, she was given a warm welcome and given a feathered cap; apparently every hobbit willing to help others could join these days because the need for more bounders was that great these days.

As a bounder, she travelled to and fro the Farthings of the Shire, offering a helpful hand where she could and giving a word of advice where it was needed. Brunelle loved to be a Bounder and wore her feathered cap with great pride!

Many years later, when she visited her parents home again, she heard her dad was complaining about having a sore back due to the bed he was sleeping in. He had already tried making one with a different type of wood, but to no avail! Thus, Brunelle set forth to Bree-Land and beyond, in order to find the best quality of wood out in Middle-Earth!
