| Outward Appearance | At first glance, Lore appears as to be a rather plain young woman with a hardiness that comes from pioneer stock, ladylike enough - but rather tough. Even from a distance it's clear she has no fear of hard labor. The unappealing hard and stoic expression hide her kind face as she bobs and weaves amongst the crowds of Bree and makes you shudder at the thought of crossing her in some way. However, now that you've stopped to speak with her you find that she is actually quite lovely, with clear skin, well-placed features and large round eyes. Pronounced "Lore-ETHee-el" she explains that her name is Elvish. You also realize that Lore is also older that she appears, as slight laugh lines are just beginning to form along her face. Her youthful demeanor give you the feeling she lives a full and happy existence, no matter what the circumstances.... |

Background
Her sheer enjoyment of life takes you off-guard. Her youthful demeanor shows she's living a full and happy existence. It's clear she enjoys bringing cheer to those around her. Her enthusiasm for life is infectious. She has a sense of innocence that makes it seem as if might even be frivolous, yet 10 minutes ago you considered her someone not to be messed with. She's hard to place.
You instantly find that she bears no ill-will even to those who would consider her an enemy. The only give-away to her mysterious age are the slight laugh-lines, and the confidence with which she moves on her sturdy, strong frame. It's that frame which gives her more physical strength and steadiness that you might expect from a female.
As the younger of a large family, she is most comfortable among the small group of people she's learned to trust. When she is in a crowd she feels like an outsider, and tries desperately to hide that fact.. While she is leery of them she also warms up to new people quickly. Educated well and early on how to thrive living on harsh lands, she also learned how to keep the peace amongst her family. Never afraid of conflict she rather enjoys it. Finding a way to make everyone happy gives her a sense of accomplishment.
In recent years she has worked diligently to become been trained as a warrior to protect her and her loved ones against the growing menace.
Her broad sense of humor often gets her into trouble. She harbors no great secrets and has no patience for those who seek to destroy the peaceful life of others. She has lived a pure life, void of the smoke and harsh drinks of many of her peers. She lived protected safely at her home for most of her life. All of which contribute to her youthful appearance.
As the last living daughter and one of the the youngest in her large family she worked side-by-side with her mother to maintain the household. She spent her days scrubbing down wooden floors, washing clothes on the rocks along the riverbed, canning, cooking, baking. Her mother taught her in the ways of her ancestors in healing illness by using herbs and the things of the earth. Lorethiel's mother wanted her to become a great Scholar like her grandmother, and named her after her.
Being teased by some brothers and coddled by others she has very mixed attitude toward the male species. Living in an area where few strangers came to visit, and even fewer chose to live she had never considered that there might be a world other than her own.
It wasn't until she met a stranded Hobbit.....
