The Black Steel

I Dagor bo Amon Sûl - The Battle on Weathertop

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Story

The ground trembles, not enough to unbalance the company but they can feel it and the skeletal hands that come out of it clutching weapons soon acquire arms, heads and the rest of their bodies. A quick glance would say that there are more than thirty, equipped with all kinds of weapons and shields, spears, swords, axes, hammers and halberds.

The Blind Warrior, Domruth, has disappeared alongside those who facilitated her rise, leaving the company in the ruins atop weathertop with just their wounds and memories accounting for the intense battle that took place there.

Blind Anger

Story

Caithryth hit the wet dirt belly first with a thump that almost knocked the wind out of her. Despite the storm she swears she heard the corroded tip of the undead's spear swing just over her back. Her fingers dig into the earth, as she's crawling madly forward, trying to reach the sword she has dropped earlier. She feels the ... thing behind her turning around, with deadly intent, just as her fingers feel the familiar hardness of the leather-wrapped hilt. Driven by pure panic she rolls onto her back, pointing the steel upwards and extends her arm in a desperate thrust.

As The Black Steel reached the summit, the rain stopped and everyone could see again. They had reached the eye of the storm. Then, a quiet chanting reached Mornenion's ears. He scouted ahead again, returning back to the others, telling them that he saw three figures performing a rital and so everyone hurried up into the main ruin of Weathertop.

The Wrong Way

As Mornenion could see in the darkness caused by the storm and the men could not, he led the way through the heavy rains. However, he took the wrong path and ended up leading the group up to some steep cliffs, so they had to turn around. It didn't take long to get back on the right path though.

The Black Steel stopped on a ridge, near the edge of where the storm began. It filled most with fear, with the loud booms of thunder and flashes of lightning. Mornenion scouted ahead to see if there was any dangers ahead, using his fëa to go unseen. He returned, shocking some as he seemed to appear from nowhere, and told that as far as he could see, there was no danger.

As everyone perpared for the walk to Weathertop, Mornenion stepped aside to watch the storm before going into it. There were only a few moments of peace to himself, as Piorra walked up to him and asked about it. He tried to explain to her that it was sorcery, though he kept it in simple terms, as he was not going to explain into the depths of what fëa was and how the storm was not that but something else.

Although still in a terribly bad mood, Mornenion set off with The Black Steel to chase the storm. As they approached the Lone-Lands, they saw a big storm cloud surrounding Weathertop, lightning flashing and thunder booming across the sky. Mornenion began to feel a sense that there was some sorcery going on.

Mornenion, as he began to enter consciousness, felt a sharp pain in his head. He shot up, looking about panicked for a moment. He thought the dream was repeating itself. The dream. Again, the image of how the dream started flashed through Mornenion's mind.

Mornenion, as he remembered the rest of the vivid dream, began to look angrier and angrier.
