Ethel

Of memories, dreams and waking

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Story

Oh sweet memories, these visions, these echoes of long past. They flicker before your eyes like rain, where each crystalline drop holds a certain image, a feeling, a sound, a smell, or everything all at once. Some come and go quick as a flash of lightning, while others linger in your view for what feels like eternity.

A Grandpapa for Ethel

As they need pass Harwick on their travels for Lord Tuibar, the family stop for a short visit with Yllfa's papa, Beornherd. The older man welcomes them warmly and, although he is frailer than he once was, seems keen to keep in contact. It's the first Waelden and Ethel have met him, and Ethel is rather pleased she now has a grandpapa, Waelden's father having died some years before.

There is talk of meeting again soon. It is possible Beornherd may even travel to Bancross.

While Waelden and Duncadda go to speak with the village Chief, Ethel and Yllfa get chatting with women and children. Any opportunities for possible trade are sought, as is any thoughts on crossing to Dale through Mirkwood.

Look at those colours!

The travellers are taken back by some of the scenery they encounter. And as they pass settlements they are taken back by how much they seem like slightly rougher versions of home.

A Change of Perspective

The aftermath of their encounter in the forest leaves all three family members quite overcome, but in a good way. Yllfa herself seems full of energy in a way she hasn't been for months. They stop to view the Argonath, marking a gateway to Gondor, before they turn their horses back to the small house by Floodwend.

Hrost accompanies them, though often at a distance.

It almost feels like a new start for all.

Lothlorien Lullaby

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Story
As my friends are settling in for the night, most likely mesmerized by the golden tranquility Lothlorien has to offer, I leave them alone and wander along the green slopes to the hill, where the garden of memory stands.

Although they are permitted to travel through the Elven wood to their goal, they are under strict guard, and instructions not to wander. Once at the Garden of Memories, they are reunited with Duncadda, who is in a far better mood than when they last saw him.

When they wake, Duncadda, who was on guard, is missing. After a short time a solitary Elf is seen beckoning them. They are very concerned for their friend, but the Elf reassures them all is well. Their presence on the edge of the Golden Wood is another matter,
