                               It's PARTY time!!

                         Date:           Saturday 18th March 2017

Time:          8:30pm GMT (3:30pm Server Time)

Door Prizes! - Games! - Raffle! -  Role play! -  Limerick competition!

Contrary to all expectation... Taala and Eroforth have tied the knot!

So come join us to celebrate their recent marriage with a roleplay evening of fun, partying, free stuff ... and, of course, the usual inappropriate behavior we've come to expect from Laurelin's premiere mercenary kin, The Bloody Dawn! Please do not attend if easily offended!

The Wedding Ceremony has already happened, several months ago in Ered Luin, so there is no dull ceremony to sit through. There’s no need to dress up… Or dress at all!

Seaver has kindly offered to host the wedding party for them at his Inn:

The White Wolf

5 Long Street

Towerglan

Breeland

((Please assume you have been invited by post or word of mouth if you are a friend of theirs or an associate of anyone in the Dawn We’ve not had time to personally write to or RP an invite with everyone  – but you know who you are and if you would have been invited, so please come if you can :-)   ))

A small quantity of posters are distributed around notice boards across the poorer areas of Bree, describing the opening of a new tavern within the city. If one were to walk the streets, they may hear townsfolk speak of the establishment.

The Crow's Tankard, a new tavern, is welcoming new patrons. We offer a selection of affordable drinks and meals in a warm environment, right here in Bree. The tavern can easily be found in Gravendore Street, otherwise known as the Haunted Alley, near the Hunting Lodge.

((OOC)) The Crow's Tankard is intended as a shady hub for Bree's less reputable citizens. Although ICly it is located in Bree, it is truthfully located in Gravendore, Bree-Land Homesteads, at 2 Long Street. Hofdon and Delora are the only certified staff. If anybody is interested in roleplaying at the tavern, please contact Hofdon; otherwise regional announcements will be made when the tavern is in operation. A weekly Crow's Tankard night may be organised in the future.

The Mead-Hall as a symbol of good and order, the good life, were warriors and locals of the town are safe, and eat, drink and sing. The feast is a formal celebration oft marked by ceremonial gift-giving. The Eorlingas loved eating and drinking and would often have feasts in the Hall. The food was cooked over the fire in the middle of the house; meat was roasted and eaten with bread. After the feast a minstrel would play a harp and sing songs of battle and their ancestors. Warriors would gather in the presence of their lord to boast and tell stories. They drank ale or mead, a strong drink made from honey. People often drank too much, so feasts were often noisy and sometimes ended in fights!

Mead-server, Cupbearer

Cupbearer is associated with the honor of the society and the bonds of friendship between earls and thanes. The cupbearer is the more active role, by which a woman bestows the mead-cup to the warriors as a symbol of the community's valor as well as the individual honor of the soldiers. The cup itself is a symbol of battle and wealth, both important aspects of the warrior culture of the Eorlings. However, it is also a symbol of nourishment and healing. Servants were peasants, doing the cooking, cleaning, laundering, and other household chores.

Scop, Skald

Scops, bards or poets fulfill many roles in the culture. They are entertainers, teachers, messengers, guardians of Rohan's past. Through song and verse, they weave tales of past deeds, important events, and current deeds and events of note. They sing songs honoring what is important in Rohan's culture. They sing songs to amuse and entertain. They travel throughout the land performing their songs, whether at taverns and inns, at campsites, or at festivals and feasts. Song is a part of everyday life in Rohan, and bards are a very visible, very important element in that.

If you have the will to RP one of those, contact Regnwald, Wychtleth or Niehstu in-game.

*You pass by the Notice Board of Bree, your eyes are set upon a new torn piece of paper, attached to the noticeboard...as you read trough the text, you realize that the parchment speaks of healing offers, potions, the offer of someone who clearly seems to be interested in healing and tending to people, may they be battle wounded, or perhaps are burdened by some unexplainable illness, or even simple symptom such as a common headache. As your eyes scan further, you find details of how to reach the person and contact them in case of need*

((If your character or someone you know is in need of healing services, feel free to poke me via Tell or Write a Mail to contact my character ICly, however sending me a tell makes it easier and faster to get an appointment concerning such RP!))

To all good and hearty citizens of Bree Land, let it be known that by decree of the mayor of Bree, the Bree-Land Militia has be approved to provide for the common defense of the land against the brigands and outlaws who have come to threaten it. The Militia is now seeking able bodied volunteers from every corner of the region with a desire to protect their homes and families.

Considerations for joining  the Militia:

1. Be a full time resident of Bree-Land (though we accept volunteers of all stocks and backgrounds)

2. Prior experience and training is not required, and will be offered to all recruits.

3. Having your own equipment is a plus, but not completely optional.

4. A willingness to follow orders will be expected from all militiamen.

5.  Militia service is part time, you are free to pursue work and trade when off duty.

Bree-Land needs willing hands to carry it through these hard times, this land has weathered storm upon storm, and it now falls upon the common Bree-Lander to make the difference in her defense.
